I know its a popular brand and lots of recreational anglers use their kite fishing gear effectively – but it will fail on you with time and the release clips are worthless IMHO. Now first of all, don’t use Aftco products when you’re setting up your kite fishing rig. It can be fished from a spool or a penn senator and doesn’t require much effort to use it effectively. The rig is simple, effective, and reliable. Essentially, it requires minimal rigging in a world where technical know-how can mean the difference between hooking fish in tough sea conditions or going home empty handed.
This was the original kite fishing rig that has been used since the late 70s (and variations well before that). We’ve learned to kite fish in practically any fishable condition, and my goal here is to illustrate several of the techniques we’ve utilized with great success through the years. For that matter, breaking fragile (and expensive) kite fishing equipment is inevitable and in most instances alot more goes wrong than right when it comes to flying two kites in rough seas. The rigs you use are equally as important as the hardware – and there are lots of choices when it comes to big league kite fishing gear. Kite fishing is absolutely my favorite ways to catch sailfish off Miami in the wintertime…and it’s definitely a skill set which keeps you on your toes. While maintenance kept us onshore for a few days, I took the time to inventory our kite fishing equipment and thought it would be an excellent opportunity to provide some direction on kite fishing tips, rigging techniques, and our most essential gear for the impending sailfish season. Jumbo threadfin herring are piling up at the bait grounds and the sailfish bite is just starting to pick up. i thought i was getting a great deal with the first one, and ended with a sweeter deal than i imagined.

and before i could say anything they upgrade me free of charge to the other one for the same price!!!. it was truly undetectable and didnt affect the kite at all) but anyhow they asked me what i wanted to do. they called me and told me they found a pinhole on the fabric (they emailed a picture. not to mention expensive) they checked the kite one last time. After they sold it, and previous to ship it (since the kite would travel a lot and a devolution was close to imposible. i did what most would do and opted out for the cheaper one (since it was in such good shape). the other was more expensive because it had just 2 or 3 uses (like new). one was 1 or 2 months used (almost perfect shape). there were 2 that i liked and had to chose. Recently i bought from argentina via web (and phone) a used kite. This is a fantastic activity for couples or families visiting Cocoa Beach, Florida. I highly recommend Good Breeze and "G" for their beginner kiteboarding lesson, and we will be returning after some home kite flying practice for future lessons. The price per person for lessons goes down with more participants so scheduling a group is recommended.
The experience was a memorable one and great overall value. "G" left us with some very helpful tips for moving forward including advice on training kites, what we can do on our own to progress, and helpful information about the local kiteboarding community and locations.

We spent an hour reviewing the fundamentals of the sport, an hour learning about the equipment and how to rig and launch a kite, and an hour actually flying an 8 meter kite from waist deep water. Furthermore, it was plainly obvious that he was in love with the sport and this enthusiasm was extraordinarily motivating and refreshing. Our instructor was highly experienced, knowledgeable, and a great teacher. He confirmed what we would need and what to expect, as well as where to meet at the the appointed time. Three days before our lesson I received a text message from our instructor "G" introducing himself and confirming the date and time of our couples lesson. So we planned a weekend getaway to Cocoa Beach (#2 kiteboarding destination worldwide) and scheduled a beginner kiteboarding lesson with Good Breeze Kiteboarding. My girlfriend and I decided it was finally time to pull the trigger on our plan to unhook from the boat and cable and learn to bring our own engine to water board sports.
